Schools

The Bergius Botanic Garden is visited by school classes of different ages and provides an excellent opportunity for teachers to introduce botany and natural science into their day to day teaching.

A visit to the garden can be booked to include a guided tour with different themes. To book a guided tour for your class contact our Nature school "Naturens Hus" (means "the house of nature"). They offer a series of different school programs both the outside parts of the garden or in one of our greenhouses. Bergius Botanic Garden collaborates with Naturens Hus regarding guided tours for schools. Naturens Hus is run by Vetenskapens Hus with Stockholm University and the Royal Institutute of Technology as responsible authorities.

Prepare your visit

  • Please check our Garden rules and regulation before your visit and inform your class. As a teacher, you are always responsible for your class, also during the guided tours.
  • Please remember that the garden is a museum hosting valuable and living plant material and it is therefore strictly prohibited to pick any plants, fruits, or seeds from the garden or in the greenhouses.
  • You are welcome to eat your lunch pack at our dedicated picnic sites in the garden (see the garden map).
  • Toilets are available in the Edvard Anderson Conservatory and the Old Orangery. During April–October we also have a toilet open close to the Victoria House. Open at 6AM–22PM. The toilets have wheel-chair access.
