Bergius Botanic Garden

Welcome to the Bergius Botanic Garden. Ideally situated at Brunnsviken, an inlet of the Baltic Sea, the garden is part of the city’s national park, protected by law to preserve natural and cultural values for the future.

The primary objective of the Bergius Botanic Garden is to support teaching and research about plant diversity, but the garden is also a recreational spot and a source of botanical knowledge for all its visitors. With a history stretching back to the 18th century, the garden is today owned and managed by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and Stockholm University.

  • Christmas flowers and plants 2021-11-24 A lot of Christmas flowers have been planted in the Edvard Anderson Conservatory.
  • The Apple Day 2021-09-24 The Apple Day is celebrated on September 25'th every year. In the Orchard of the Bergius Botanic Garden you can see several of the apple varieties in an educational decoration. This year we show about 30 different varieties and several exciting plant diseases. The decoration can be seen until the beginning of October.
  • Dahlia next to the Victoria House 2021-09-06 Now the dahlias are blooming with amazing colors. They grow next to the Victoria House.
