About the Bergius Botanic Garden

The Bergius Botanic Garden originates from a property called Bergielund, a garden founded and developed by the Bergius brothers in the late 18th century in the centre of Stockholm. Today the garden i situated at Frescati and is run by Stockholm university. The primary objective of the garden is to support teaching and research about plant diversity, but the garden is also a recreational spot and a source of botanical knowledge for all its visitors.

Collections

The collections of the garden primarily comprise the living plants collection but the Bergius foundation also include a herbarium, a collections of portraits and objects.

Find us

The Bergius Botanic Garden is located in Frescati, on northern Djurgården in Stockholm. From the underground and railway stations "Universitetet" you can walk to the garden in about 5 minutes.
